I started out with an older 2015 MacBook Pro simply using its built-in camera and microphone. I remember those days fondly, I did everything in QuickTime! Yikes... That didnt work for long - because quick time offered very little control, but viewers complained about the overwhelming keyboard sounds and clicks during my walkthroughs. So then I moved to a Mini Lavalier Lapel Omnidirectional Condenser used it for years - its powerless - loved it but it sounds a little hollow - like well see in a minute. Eventually got a Blue Yeti USB Microphone - but it never took to me - ts still in the US being in Barcelona Spain right now. Then I started using the camera and mic built into my 2018 mac book pro - but it sounded too echoey and the camera on the new mac book pros is worse than the 2015s due to their new ultra-thin lid design. So then I started filming with my iPhone, and thats what am using now. Way better image quality than the mac. So just recently got this Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone And I absolutely love it! I did get an arm to hold it up and that makes life easier than the stand I had for the Yeti. The main reason I looked for a replacement is that am in a really noisy office, take a look. -- show clip So this Cardioid microphone only picks up sound that is super close! Wow, just what I needed. For fun, Ill walk you through 4 microphones. Ill start with a raw - MacBook pro-2018 sound - Mini Lavalier Lapel Omnidirectional Condenser - iPhone x microphone - and back to the Audio-Technica ATR2100-USB Cardioid Dynamic See what I mean???
